      Hello, Franscisco.

The word is discretionary. Every bit of this balance sheet can and will be discretionary at the point that people smarter than cottonpicker decide there really is something that is out of control. I would bet the farm on it, and the following:

Fifty years from now when cottonpicken has lost his hearing, and is drooling in his soup in a senior's complex, his marbles will still be preaching the same line from his doomsday chart.

I don't think its so much about "smarts" as it is about testicular fortitude and discipline. Both of which are in short supply in political circles.

It also doesn't help that every political party out there is infested with socialists.

It won't be 50 years before I'm drooling
in my soup, but doesn't the U.S.
desperately need the American form of a
GST. Is it such a swear word down there
or am I just that stupid?

Less than 1/2 of Americans pay taxes . .
            . go figure.

Maybe one or two less wars would help.

            Cotton . . . you are right on-the-money
            about deflation rearing its head.

now where the heck did I hide my soup? .

Fransisco: Yes, the old "socialism" bugaboo gets blamed every time.

What a crock...government is there to SERVE people with services that benefit ALL.

Some people would regard the postal service as being "socialist" and would privatize IT if they could.

What gets governments in as much trouble as any are protections for "special interest" groups. Read the histories of NA governments for the past hundreds of years and find out for yourself.

It's a NOMB question, but is your financial sheet in order?

If it isn't, it has been said that before you can be any good to anyone else (not excluding Fransisco's Socialists), you need to look after yourself.

checking . . . as I see the problem we
are all in right now stems from easy
credit over the past 30 years. To me,
                  this is an-over-the-top credit/debt
                  bubble crisis that now rapidly
                  unfolding.

I totally agree with Cotton that the sh
. . . is comin down the pipe real fast
right now and IMO there will be a hit on
                  agriculture.

You're just saying that to stay in the good graces of "the soup guy". (lol)

Not "all" of us are in the credit debt place of 30 years; nor ever will be, even if we had listened to your peer group advice. I have no fears about agriculture.
