    In Ukraine

We are back in Ukraine again.

I see some banks here have 16.5% interest on 1 year term deposits.

We did not see any winter wheat crops. We
were in western Ukraine and the weather and
season was very similar to Saskatchewan.

They were burning stubble from last year
getting ready to seed this years crop.

Could see small fires all over the land.

I did not look much into the Banking system
there as it is very hard to find anyone who can
speak English with where we were.

What does the flax look like over there?

Is there as many acres as they say if you judge by the stubble?

I never seen any flax stubble in our travels.
Looked like some corn stubble and wheat
            stubble.
There was not many big fields that we seen.
60 acres max. Lots of small plots that had garlic
            cabbage ect.

I think most of the big farms are in Eastern
            Ukraine.

when we were flying the sky was clear could see
lots of farmland. I was suprised how much
farmland there is around Munich Germany and
around Paris France. looked like lots of winter
crops were seeded in France and Germany.

It looks like we be making another trip to
Ukraine in June. I had the option of missing
seeding to complete our Ukraine adoption or go
            in June July.

I figured it would be easier to get some one to
spray than to do the seeding and pedigreed
seed sales. we could be in Ukraine for 6 weeks.

It wont be easy to be away from the farm at
that time but we dont have much choice if we
            want to complete our adoption.

It will be interesting to see the crops in Ukraine
            during the growing season.

We will get to see a lot of Ukraine then as we
will fly into Kieve then travel to Lviv by car or
train. Then north of Lviv to Chervonohrad
maybe down to the Carpathiens as well.

              Hey Jag,
I would love to see any video you might take on your tour if you have time to post on Youtube. I think I saw you have stuff on Youtube in the past.

              Safe travels,
              Monte
