Richard is right but even the blind squirrel finds an occasional nut. As always he uses a lot of words to attempt to express a simple concept - and fails.

The greatest asset that farmers have when they travel to Ottawa is numbers. Politicians live or die by elections. When business travels to Ottawa all they can offer is money and that's all the pols see. When farmers travel to Ottawa the pols should see voters. That is a huge difference but I don't think farmers capitalize on that difference. I'm not saying that 1000s of farmers need to descend on Ottawa at once but whenever farmers visit Ottawa they need to ensure that they appear united so that the message the pols receive is "voters want this" (as opposed to hearing that one more lobby group wants something).
