32-0-0-0 liquid ????

Anyone ever use it before? What is the solution like to handle? Does it mix well with liquid sulfur?
Got a call from Rayglen Commodities on a price delivered to farm $410/tn, which is a better price than the 28-0-0-0 @ $430 n we can get.
We generaly just take delivery before seeding of N/S blend in one tank. The deal from Rayglen is 32-0-0 only, we would have set up a liquid S tank and blend here.
Not sure if it worth the hassel??

If farmers keep building storage on the farm and start blending - why do we need retailers to do it?

Maybe farmers will be able to deal factory direct. What does the middle man do exactly other than cash the pre-buy cheque. And organize delivery direct from the plant.

Viterra Inc. ("Viterra") (TSX:VT)(ASX:VTA) today announced record financial results for the year ended October 31, 2011 due to strong contributions from its agri-products operations, higher volumes for the Australian grain handling and marketing operations, and a solid performance from the processing operations. For the year ended October 31, 2011, Viterra generated EBITDA of $702 million, a 36% increase over the prior year, as all three business segments increased sales revenue and gross profit contributions relative to fiscal 2010. Agri-products' EBITDA increased 59% on strong fertilizer volumes and pricing.

Fertilizer margins averaged $133.53 per tonne for fiscal 2011 compared to $97.36 per tonne in the prior year.

32-0-0 is just a more concentrated nitrogen product, same as 28 just less water, they use it in the more southern states. Only reason it isn't common here as it salts out at our lower Canadian temps. Believe me, I know, years ago Agrium sent it by accident to us in Nov and by spring we had two feet of salt in the bottom of our tanks....not pretty. If you get in spring, shouldn't be a prob, circulate and go, good luck and great price.....considering.

I wouldn't deal with GayGlen Commodities if'n theys paid me $430 a MT to take their shit 32%. It will salt out if'n yous take delivery anytime before Spring. And no that is not a good price........

HA HA HA. That is funny! I agree, yes prices should be going down. However, this just shows how smart you really are BTO. If someone paid me $430 or anything to take fertilizer I could not say yes fast enough. GayGlen hahaha. I like that.

The advice not to put 32 into winter storage is good. And even spring temps will likely salt it out but 28 is no guarantee that you won't have salt out problems. 32 salts out at 0C and 28 salts out at -18C so either product can be a problem. There is less freight cost built into each unit of N in 32. If I had a deal on 32 in the fall or winter I'd cut it with water as I put it into storage so that I ended up with 28. That's effectively all that happens at the plant when they make 28 or 32 - they use steam but the 28 just gets more water.

Those are strong margins no doubt but its a little different than it would be in the grain industry. There's no good secondary market for fertilizer so those margins show speculative gains as well as "operating" margin. Far be it from me to defend Viagra's margins but its not like they're buying 28-0-0 inseason and adding $100 to it before they send it out the door. Those speculative margins can and do go against them from time to time, like this current year for example.

Agree...just when they spec wrongly...don.t pass the bs back to the farm.

Suck it up...they did in 2008, and are looking for a grain pricing miracle to bail em out...

They'll pass on exactly what they can get away with passing on. If farmers will pay the price then they'll get away with the BS. What farmers need is better information so they know how badly they're getting worked over and then better brokers to arbitrage the deals. Lining up at CPS or Viterra isn't going to serve them well, IMHO.
