Aloha! Would the locals allow Puchasing of farmland buy ME in Hawaii!

Well later this week its off to find
some farm land. Ok its a excuse. But the
best winter in 100 we are having right
at home in Saskatchewan. Pushing Bush or
hauling grain is just plain fun.
Total Diesel used this winter is
unbelievable, tanks are still half full
    and its Middle of Feb.
But here is a conversation I have been
having with neighbors. Why are we
    allowing these so called foreigners
buying our land with no one in public
office doing any thing about it.
No not the NDP way of no Foreign
ownership. But aren't we screwing future
Canadian farmers. Aren't we creating a
world like our grandfathers left over
    seas.
Would Hawaii IF I could afford it allow
me to purchase a Island away from the
locals. I can bet you the answer is, Not
one acre. Americans understand this but
to me Canada is going down the wrong
    path.
Yes as a farmer were all worth alot on
paper. But really is anything really
    changed.
New purchaser just south of the Valley
buy Indian head. He bought I think 8 or
12 quarters of grass land. Yes wide open
and seeded back 10 years ago. He phones
Vittera and asks how to get the farm up
to standards to seed to a crop this
spring. He told them his expected
yields. Wow. Must have a secret weapon
because no way in hell will he hit the
    targets. Its alfalfa brome.
Any way more and more is being bought
each and every day and maybe some
farmers are starting to get tired of
this. Aloha and see you in March!

The same way we literally give away control of the third north south railway connection to the USA. Its because few will bother using their brain cells; only a handful try to connect the dots; a lack of understanding, strategic planning and giving away options that could be left open.
When you have all the tools to control development; but don't use them andkeep them up to date; all control can be lost with the first decision. After that it is probably too late; the die has been cast.
Sorry to say but your farmland expansion plans have been dealt some body blows.

I agree we're missing important things that are
changing farming. If the govts do a bailout to
these land companies in future or foreign
      investors I'll scream bloody murder.
Farmers wake up our future is eroding away.
      Canada is Canada not china!
Right now my land expansion is on hold. One
neighbor who rents alot is maybe loosing up to
4000 acres to land companies and foreigners.
      Times are changing!

        I dunno. Didn't Hudyes just sell 15 000
acres in Kansas? Seems they are
Canadians, and the yanks let them buy it
obviously. I am not sure it is just
Canada is all I am saying. And soon
enough, the prices will crash, and these
"investors" will be gone like the
        southwest Saskatchewan wind. And the
long gone to Saskatchewan theme will be
over. A couple of poor production years,
(drought), higher interest rates, or any
other myriad of factors will intervene.

That being stated, I have no idea why it
        is being allowed by officials.

Free wheat I'm surprised how the politicians aren't
concerned. It's the big topic of conversation
around the farm last week. Your right with hudye I
forgot, he bought when farmland was in the tank
          down their.
