    That the US economy hasn't gone to hell in a hand basket.

    Bernanke economy proves critics clueless on Fed. (Bloomberg site) US economy strengthening and inflation in check.

    There are considering turning parts of Detroit
    back into farmland. The current talk is a few
    months of job growth....were headed back to the
    good old days....not. Close some of the 700
    military bases around the world, cut subsidies for
    ethanol production and watch what that does to
    farm land values in Iowa....POP!

        Kick the can down the road another few years. Ethanol Subsides have already been cut starting 01/01/12. How long do I wait fer this "pop sound"??? I'll be waiting with a Blank Cheque in Hand..........

          Governments know that too much fossil fuel is
          used to make ethanol than is economical.
          Furthermore this extra demand for grain has
          pushed up food costs. If governments spent the
          budget converting cheap natural gas, I'd be much
          happier. As for the pop, I think it might be more
          like a whoosh.
