    2011/12 Initial Payments Increased

    Initial payments for 2011-12 crop year increased
    February 3, 2012
    Winnipeg - The CWB today announced that 2011-12 initial payments for specific grades of spring wheat and durum, and for designated barley, will increase effective February 9, 2012. The increases will range from $5.05 to $27.90 per tonne for wheat (depending on grade and class), from $35.20 to $45.55 per tonne for durum, and $51.90 per tonne for designated barley.

    Will note only high protein wheat (excluding durum) got an adjustment.

    All durum grades and proteins got a $39/tonne adjustment excluding 4 and 5 CWAD.

          For what it is worth, the adjustment payment puts select two row malt barley at 90 % of the PRO or equal to a malt barley cash plus. A indication the barley pool is likely closed or only open to additional domestic business/North American at prices above these levels. Not likely to be any more off shore export business.
