    thursdays report?

bullish or bearish i think 6 of the last 10 jan reports have had either limit up or down on corn and beans.

seems to be a few holes in the corn numbers?

even if its a nuetral report south american problems may add some support.

apart from 2010 when russian made the announcement in august was it? the peak of prices lately is late jan through to early march wereas it used to be april may.

whatever i will sell some old crop in store and a % of new crop if there are some healthy moves up, then scale up using target price contracts for old and new crop.

    Hi Mallee
I am thinking the same way.
I am selling some old crop and a little of this
year's grain to take some profit out of play. I
have the feeling this is going to be a bumpy
    week in the markets.

Morgan Stanley is among the bulls regarding the upcoming January WASDE report. The firm believes that the USDA has underestimated corn, feed, and residual use by as much as 350 million bushels and that the USDA will likely cut its crop production and export projections for Argentina. However it usually takes awhile for the USDA to adjust numbers to any weather issues in Argentina may not be factored in until the February report. The US 11/12 corn production estimate could also see a reduction due to a poor Ohio crop.

January reports have a greater effect on the market than any other USDA report. With conditions in SA like they are and warm temps across western NA, I forecast higher markets. At least I only have to wait until the end of the week to know.

Oh to know the details of this report
would be worth millions of not Billions,
as it seems like Limit moves are the
result of recent Jan reports. Seems
like the Market in general wants this
report to be bullish. So although I
don't think it will be bullish a bearish
report won't likely result in a limit
move with Droughts emerging in many
parts of the World. I watch with eager
anticipation Long only what I can afford
          to be..

Here's an interesting video from a trader who is extremely bullish regarding tomorrow's report:
