Anyone having success growing corn in SE Sk?

I talked to a Pioneer seed dealer a couple of
weeks ago and he mentioned there is a growing
number of guys trying early corn for grain?

    Any experiences? Good and bad?

I have heard of some growing corn with good results if weather is hot enough. most say a corn head is a must to do any kind of a job. Sorta like straighting lentils with a ridgid head vs a flex, it will work but you lose lots.

Maturity is the key - needs to be in early and have a full growing season with no early surprize killing frost.

You will need a corn head for the combine and you might want to small corn planter for more precise seed placement and population control.

Judging by the success of corn production in Manitoba it won't be long until you have some early corn genetics for SE SK.
