What's the Back story to this? If there was
going to be an acclimation. Why go though
    expense of election.

She removed herself from the election 2 days ago. There is no story that I am aware of, she decided for personal reasons that she could not fulfill her duties if elected.

I don't know reasons either. Just saying
director elections cost farmer a lot of cash.

Are bonds put up? From what I've heard
Cynthia is a sharp lady who knew what she was
getting into. This was no lark. She had ideas
and skills that would have been useful around
        the table.

I realize things come up, just looking for an
        explanation.

I wonder if the three amigos put some pressure on
          her.

Broken record time. I still have a problem with Bert
Vandenberg running. Way too many conflict of
          interests.

Bert is a great guy, but I agree his running does not seem koshewr to me either. Surely there sre ethics guidelines in that size of organization.

As for the election at the time of printing with four candidates an election was necessary.

Candidates like Cynthia are gold to our organization. While former directors, or persons who have multiple years of combined board experience, bring valueable know how to a board, new ideas, and new thinking are the lifeblood of vision and the future. The role of leadership is to mentor not discourage new members, and one may suggest this election did not provide evidence of this approach.

Also, I believe we may need to look at the level of involvement required of a director so we can engage folk whose agenda of business and life obligations prevents them from being involved. Perhaps we need to expand our board membership to decrease the number of days required.

While the conflict of interest is obvious, levy contribution enables a vote: U of S / CDC pays levy and in this capacity is elegible to run as a director and to become the chair of the organization if supported by the majority board.

I should say to be more precise: the
potential for conflict of interest is
                    obvious.
