    Independent Trimble/Topcon dealer in Humboldt?

I know a few of ya'll are from the area... I've been
    approached by Canada's main Trimble
repair/service/sales center to become a dealer in the
    area....

Do Ya'l think it's a worthwhile persuit? Hergott and the
NH dealer must be selling this stuff already?

Sorry that was not to you Klause.

Klause the local dealers do not promote that product. I think the thought of something spinning the steering wheel while sitting in front of it scares the hell out of me for one.

I wouldn't want my name associated with "Canada's main Trimble repair/service /sales center" if its the place I'm thinking of. Their service/product support is very poor from our experience and talking to others.

            Just saying

I would be afraid of stopping my seeder to go fix
someone else's system, and when they break its when
                you are doing something to.

Klause,is your level of IT training high enough to write
                code?

If you could focus solely on the construction end and not on ag it could be feasible. Their slow season would at least somewhat coincide with spring seeding. Or set up a company doing installs etc... for a any brand. Hide the cabling etc... Not like it is when you get it done at a dealership and they leave miles of cabling sitting on the floor and have it running through the window. I would think a lot of the dealerships would be happy to contract work like this out

Why not get a job in Humboldt or in the area instead of on the rigs. Can't imagine it is possible to get anything done being so far away.
You might not be able to make the huge money but their are lots of $20 jobs around. Nothing worse than working up north in a bush camp making good money but also missing a great marketing opportunity that cost $100,000 in sales so you could make an extra $10,000 on your t4.

I know... I don't plan on working up north anymore
                        after this year....

For one thing my soon-to-be fiance and I would
rather be together, then apart, for another, we've
got a lot of building to do, and for a third, as you
said, it's nice to be able to make decisions when
                        they need to be made...

I have my class 1 license, and certainly wouldn't
mind a grain hauling job... have my IT experience,
wouldn't mind working in that business, and yes,
doing installs & such would be nice... I've had to do
enough setups for friends that it's easy and simple
                        for me...
