Dairy Farmers Financially Support CWB Legal Challenge

Spoke to a friend of mine who is a BC dairy farmer. He
said that the Dairy farmers association is sending
money to help pay for the CWB lawsuit against the
government. I haven't been able to find any press
release about this, but it would be interesting if the
media were able to follow this up.

He said they felt if CWB goes their supply management
system would be more at risk.

Is that legal to do also?

I also know a dairy farmer, and the reason they want the cwb to stay, is to maintain lower feed prices. Can you say, conflict of interest? This money printing sector of agriculture is scared to lose their license to print and face the real world like the rest of us. And the rest of us are looking forward to facing the real world of higher prices post cwb. I am not surprised dairy farmers would do this. They have a HUGE entitelment culture. And again, they want to have cheap feed, as the printing presses work even better this way. lol

Freewheat, I don't think the cost of feed is much of an issue to the dairy sector. They have a formula that if production costs rise, the price of milk rises, thereby maintaining their margins.

A legislated supply means somebody makes
money. Dockage dollars make some people rich.
          Not Western farmers.

I have stayed out of the dairy, chicken debate but if they are going to fight against my interests to protect their marketing boards, I will join with those who want the supply boards gone.I will watch for confirmation of this story.

If a union contributes two million to the friends of
the board, it's not legal. But if say, twenty virtual
dollars per person, is gathered up from a virtual
coffee party online, steamrolling along, from a
half million people, contributed in envelopes, isn't
it a democratic action within the law. Mutterings
from a woman listening to Claude Gravelle
comment on the CWB. Good grief. Pars

Parsley what if us western farmers got together possibly one crazy out of control would be better and bought 1000 gallons of milk, drove to some dairy associating office in Quebec after alerting media.
2 inch honda pump with hose and fire nozzel let her go. Of course clean up would be more expensive but it would be cheaper advertisement than the CWB is racking up. On behalf of the majority of Western Canadian Farmers.

Just got off the phone with the dairy farmers of canada (DFC). They are claiming that they have not contributed in any way to the CWB's action against the government.
