I was the farmer that sold the 4,000 bu of reds. Used Rayglen commodities to sell these reds to JGL Grain. Talked to JGL buyer on phone and asked where my lentils went. The JGL rep told me that they were sold to Babich's by Moose Jaw. They were very up-front with the information.

An employee of Babich's told someone who then told someone (as per the usual rumour mill process) that my lentils were the last to go in the 5th 50,000 bu bin of reds that they just recently purchased for around that 21 cent mark.

    Crazy......

Could it be they were using them to blend some lower quality ones up?

Could they possibly be storing lentils for Mobil Grain. Babich farms have sold a lot of product to them before and it wouldn't be the first time a processor used farmers bins for extra storage. Mobil has been agressive in the red market many times before as well.
