I would expand too with all the cheap barley coming online in Aug 2012.

        Then do it!!
Buy calves, do whatever you can to value add all that dirt cheap grain.
just don't " be with those cold timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat".

An interesting comment from IF on the day after the CWB dropped the malt barley PRO by $18 to $19/tonne.

At least in the new world there will be a malt barley price offered everyday and available to every farmer.

No more middle man playing both sides of the trade and communicating to farmers once a month about an forecast average price.

No cash plus worked out between the CWB and the maltster/selector and then communicated to select customers on an as needed basis.

            Charlie,

            You are right!

A 'Privilaged' few get better prices... while the rest are hunting blind with no options!

TRANSPARENT prices are key to value and informed decisions!!!

AND growers control the supply... in the end even the CWB is pressured to sell our grain or roast for killing our farms!

TOM and I F are you stupid blind or just walk with blinders on like the draft horses of yester years. Today we have instant information from this thing we call the internet. If you are so assbackward and don't want to change get off my ship stay with your sociallist wheat board buddies take 2.00 dollars a bushel less and be happy. I'm with Ritz and have a good working relationship with the companys I deal with. You people must be the ones that go to the elevator and bitch with the whole world on your shoulders.
