    Brian Storseth, MP

Storseth is representing marketing change on
    CPAC today, with clarity, understandability,
    dignity, and researched argument.

My biggest concern with this legislation is the
time frame. It will be five years to finalize
repealing the act. Another election will be called
    before the deed is done

If CP does not win the next election, all is for
naught. The NDP or LPC or a Coalition will leap
at pushing the Restore button on the CWB act.

But the law will be changed in the next few months correct? It will be dismantled affectively in the short term. Do not think it could possibly be restored.

      Parsley,

If another Party is in power after the next election... it is a moot point,,, the different party can change the legislation any way they want in any event. This is a reasonable CWB transition move the Conservatives are pursuing.

Dave I have a problem with the elevators and
mills. Whether it's direct or indirect: govt control
or it's cwb control , our facilities cannot be
legislatively designated as works for Canada.

Should stores be legislated as works for the
          advantage of Canada.

              Parsley:
The CWB Act will be repealed as of Aug 1, 2012 - not in five years.

              The timeline is as follows:
From Royal Assent to Aug 1, 2012 - the CWB Act will be amended - reduces board of directors to 5 appointed, allows CWB to trade into new crop and allows the grain trade to also trade into new crop.

Aug 1, 2012 - The CWB Act is repealed.
It is replaced with the CWB Interim Operations Act which will be in place until either the CWB is converted to a corp or coop - or wound down. The CWB will have 4 years to provide a business plan. This Act will be repealed no later than 5 years from Aug 1, 2012 - sooner if the business pan is presented sooner.

While the CWB is enabled by this Act, it will have no monopoly powers.

The bothersome clause continues on into the
next Phase. It is a crucial section that is able to
                allow or Inhibit free commerce.

Ralph Goodale regards the CWB as a political
                  bargaining chip in international affairs.

                    Long way away.

I cannot in any scenario see the conservatives in power
                    in 2017.
