    Time to roll...again - soon??

If and a big if, the forcast holds, alot of crop ready over the next ten days. Should finish swathin reseeded canola tomorow by noon and get at the wheat if it is close. Very interesting to see a big difference with the Black Lable micros we put on the canola - very noticable, hope the weigh wagon shows what i am thinking/seeing. Cut out four plots on four diff feilds and all show the same thing.
70% of the peas gone and 100% of the w/wht gone. Time to store all that hrsw.

Sorry for my ignorance, what's a black label micro? Analysis? Price? Supplier? Flag leaf app?

Looks like all frost warnings lifted for the eastern side - good no one needs that.
Crusher - check out Nortrace. Sold through UAP and we got from CPS in North Battleford. Cost about $7/ac (retail) We did tests on both canola and wheat. Used Black Lable canola with the second shot r/up. Also tried the Black Lable cereal just when the wheat was heading to see if we could boost protien - will know in two days.

Nothing happening east of Red Deer alberta yet. No swathing.
Frost on the windshield yesterday morning. A lot of late canola. Lots of barley getting close to swathing. Windy and fairly warm yesterday after two days of rain.

No frost for next 5 days now. Had one inch on friday, and .7 inch on wed. So little wet here, hopefully the 30 winds dry her out some today so as to get started. Hopefully the almost dry canola swaths don't start moving.

I see there were some under 2 degrees last night, hopefully everyone escaped the frost. Lots of green canola fields a week or so from swathing, but forecast looks good now.

South of calgary we got to 0 for about 1/2 hr to an hour. the dew was real heavy and most of our cereals are say, 20-25% moisture. not sure if that will do any damage?

Swathed wheat looks great(60ish) but all bleached from rain, kiss #1 goodbye.
Again rain at the wrong time cost me $$$!
Could combine it Tuesday, will try canola tomorrow, was 8.3% before the 1" of rain.
Let's hope the forecast does not change.

Why not just store your wheat until next year, it will be worth more come march.

Will it be #1 in March?
                          Isn't the 60% vitreous for #1 a CGC issue?

Disappointed in the soft wheat today. Started combining not much behind the swather and testing 19. The new conbine supposed to be calibrated said average 48 bushels to acre and seems about correct according to tank fullness. And it is callibrated to deduct for moisture. Swath is not big. Cruising at 7 miles an hour.

somebody ought to look into doing something about better forecasting for us farmers. All the talk about how they can help us, unreliable forecasts costs us how much over the years? Forecast for our area earlier predicted no rain, so neighbors swathed barley and wheat now what about 2 to 3 inches on it and with this heat gonna grow if any more comes.
