Jeff Nielsen should be given a bonus gift for actually being accountable to the people who voted him in.

The more transparent, the more accountable, the more open, the more communicative all staff and executives and board members are with the farmers they serve, the better the farmers will fare. And good staff rise to the occassion, because they know that happy farmers grow more, do better, and consequently can afford, and want to reward those who work hard.

This "hunker-down", shut your mouth and serve only the corporation claptrap is ultimately divisive, self-serving and eats itself from within.

Thanks again, Jeff for setting the bar higher.

One of the most interesting non scripted discussions coming from the two CWB meetings was a audience question to Henry Vos and a response to it by Allen Oberg. My take is Allen Oberg/select directors carried the ball/CWB board of director policy going into these meetings. From a governace standpoint (not an expert in general or specific to the CWB), I suspect this is the way organizations can work. Perhaps more interesting is neither of the fully Alberta elected board of directors participated in the meetings except for planted questions in the audience. A very select audience for Alberta I might add that likely does not reflect this provinces attitude. Anyone can look at the CWB producer surveys including the 2011 version.

And again I spell Falher wrong. My apologies to any from the community.

In case you missed my interview with Jeff Nielsen yesterday,<a href="http://realagriculture.com/2011/08/23/the-real-outcome-of-the-cwb-
            travelling-road-show-jeff-nielsen"> here it is again</a>.

He is walking a fine line but I really sense his frustration around the moves that this board is taking to not deal with the realities of
August 1, 2012.  Whether he should be booted is probably an interesting discussion for someone that is an expert on board of director
protocols.  In my opinion he shouldn't be released based on the special circumstances of this specific "once in a lifetime" event.
Emotions are high on both sides and it would be a PR nightmare for Oberg to make that move right now.

Johnsmith, vote him out the next election if you are a producer in this district. If not take your Communist Party of Canada membership and go to North Korea.

The only reason that Chairman Oberg is pushing for the monoply is that they don't have to justify performance as they would have to as a producer run organization.

I was starting to wonder about Jeffs
silence. He lasted longer than I would
                have.
Thanks for doing the job you were
                elected for Jeff. Represent the
majority of farmers in your area. If you
live in Jeffs area and don't agree I
guess you should move or stop growing
                board grains.

If he resigns then Harper or Ritz should hire him on as the next Chairman of the board . After Ritz fires the group of eight...
