    Is the CWB Doomed?

    If there is no one in CWB management who is optimistic that the CWB can survive in some form; and no strong supporter of the CWB who believes the "die has not been cast"; then why hasn't this matter been put to rest.

    There is no sense prolonging the agony on those terms.

    Unfortunately; or fortunately my prediction is that we are doomed to a long period of further harm and acrimony by those on both sides who have interests in making the current situations even worse.

    It is with Oberg at the helm.

    And where is Ian White in all this?

      At the meeting in Medicine Hat tonight, chairman
      Oberg promised to use all the resources
      available to the CWB to fight the conservative
      government's plan to give us market freedom.

      So I guess we can kiss our interim and final
      payments goodbye.

        Marketing choice was supposed to include a viable CWB option which is not going to happen. Thanks to the Cons and the farmers who started to believe their own BS, you are about to succeed in removing another choice in where farmers market their grain.

        How many farmers will be on the Board of Directors representing the interests of producers on any of the remaining choices? Zero! Well done guys.

          chuckChuck,

          "Marketing choice was supposed to include a viable CWB option which is not going to happen."

          Chairman Oberg and his 7 think alike buddies get more savage by the day.

          Strange folks.

          We all know the price of wheat is NOT determined by the 'single buying desk' of the CWB in International markets...

          But by;
          a) US/CDN$$$ values,
          b) Black Oil,
          c) Corn,
          d) Political decisions outside the control of any CWB sales plan... and
          e) The greater world economic conditions.

          If the supposed strongest supporters of 'cooperative' marketing... are truly just greedy self seeking sociaists... the CWB is truly doomed.

          Think about it chuckChuck. You folks are proving just how horrible the managers are leading the CWB!

            Did you notice that the plebesite doesn't offer marketing choice that most prefer? Why don't you tell your Board friends to stop digging their hole deeper by saying "no", and start negotiating?

            When you have 78 years to develop a system, and you can't get it right because of fine folks that insist they get special entitlement advantages over the rest of the slugs, well that's why the support base gets eroded.

              chuckChuck, I have about as much sympathy for you as you had for me when I wanted market freedom.

                Chuckchuck,

                If the CWB is Destroyed;
                The CWB will not recked be those growers who know change is needed...

                But the CWB WILL be destroyed by those growers who refuse to change.

                Take a look in the mirror chuckChuck... you are responsible for what happens to the CWB.

                  Lets try that again:

                  Chuckchuck,

                  If the CWB is Destroyed;
                  The CWB will not be recked by those growers who know change is needed...

                    THis is all about 'entitlements'!!!

                    Chuckchuck all has the right moves to play the 'blame game'... which solves nothing at all.

                    Now chuck how do we change the system to reflect private property rights and create value for everyone involved???
