No heat blast here, just drowned, and near drowned. Some nice, many fair, some poor canola, but a lot of acres.

BHP Jansen site has some nice canola on their new mine site land. Things have gone a little backwards here, but I am sure we should be able to pay the bills yet.
Looking more and more like the old IH combines will be able to do just fine.
Its funny how some people can say the crops are looking so good and at the same time be standing beside the most weed infested mess, lol. Things did look a lot better earlier on. Canola after canola after canola fields.

Thought the BHP mine site was seeded to grass?

There are none I've seen most of the province and there is nothing better than 50 out there. Most will be between 30-40.

I have to agree I think some guys are going to get a surprise. Heat for 5 days and shallow root system not a good mix plus throw in wind with the heat.
Yes lots of 30 plus but also some ps poor ones and the odd great one.

there is a few very possible but most will be in the 40 range. In general our area will be down 10 bus/ac from last year.

60 canola what world do you live in .
i have had 44 across every acre.
have seen 53 -55 bushell , but have never topped 50 myself.
I am sure it's possible but to assume a large chunk of the prairies would average 60 that's a strech

Never would assume that either. Just sayin, there are a few feilds that have that potential, not a whole region. I seen several fields last year that weighed out over 60, so it is more than possible, with the right variety, weather, weed control and agronomics.
