Did 19 million acres of canola get seeded?

Is this credible with the weather we have had this year?


Statistics Canada, in its acreage survey for the period ended June 3, pegged canola area in Canada at 19.799 million acres.
This compares with pre-report expectations that ranged from 17.25 million to 18.25 million and the StatsCan March 31 projection of 19.225 million. In 2010, actual canola area totalled 16.818 million acres.

I seeded what I had intended to. It all looks like crap, I'd guess 10 to 15 days late, 65% of normal yield potential.

Our area only 75% seeded but canola acres will be up by quite a bit over last year. Can not speak for other ares but all canola that was expected to be seeded was seeded in our area.
