Start of growing season..

Not unusual but for those with crops up frost warnings issued for northern Sask through eastern Sask and Western Manatoba. I would imagine again for the next couple nights as well, ya gotta love mother nature.

Why even worry about frost when in a large swath of manitoba doesnot have a viable crop even growing on it and no hope for another week with all the rain. The market has not awaken to the disaster that is lerking in manitoba and eastern sask.

Weatherbug reports minus readings on a line north of approx Edmonton, Saskatoon, Yorkton area and into Manitoba.
An associated risk is the unprotected contracted areas that may be subject to financial obligations for those who may be counting their chickens before they have reached slaughter weights.

I said this last year on this forum. A person can do the exact same thing and one year mother nature makes you look like a genius and the next year a dumb ass.

If you stick with the CWB in the fall, maybe a good question to ask them is:

(How much 2011 crop has the CWB presold and at what price?)

Think we are stuck with CWB this fall unless you carry your crop into 2012-13 crop year. With the CWB offering farmers sweet deals to carry over grain. It will already have a negative impact on the 2011-12 crop year prices. GIVE ME POOL OF 4 MONTHS..This would eliminate all the BS programs.

Absolutly righ, mother natuer rules. There is alot of damage with at least one more night of frost to go. Canola seeded may 8th - 12th hit very hard. Same as the last few years, more stb cover, more damage. We have seen frost damage before but this is bad. Dry frost, much like a few years ago, and absolute dead plants by this afternoon - no question. Pinched right off with only stubs left. start again tomorow...
