    Need Rain in Sw Sask

We could use some rain in SW Sask. Canola seeded 3
weeks ago not gerninating. We got 4 feet of subsoil
moisture but the top 2-3 inches is dried out.

South of Swift Current we are already water logged. Dont need any moisture for awhile. 50% done and everything seeded so far is coming up nicely. 10 days of nice weather should get our area done for the most part even though some haven't started yet. South of here towards the US border some haven't turned a wheel for almost a week.

We seeded our canola on the 16th and it up all ready...The warm temps have brought on the germ, and the weeds...

We have not had rain in NB area of any significant since the snow melt, but at the moment we have sufficient moisture just below the soil and good subsoil. Figure if we can get the seeds out of the ground we should be OK for a bit. I spoke to Drew Lerner the other day, he is keeping a close eye on the situation, figured the dryness would hold as a pattern for a bit, but at the moment felt it should ebb mid June.. but he did say he was monitoring it! Apparently the split jet steam is keeping the moisture to the extreme south, would need to see a jet stream move to change much, but he was hopeful for mid June.

We don't wan't any more rain!!It was starting to just get manageable to seed on sunday, yesterday we got between a inch and a 1 1/2 of rain, depended on what rain gauge we checked at which field.

Drew says it's coming when the jet moves N, next week. Hope 2010 does not repeat and flood all the seeded land. Hope it rains on DRY lands, half inch would do us for a month or two. The roots will find all 30" of 2010 down there.
