If you know anything of Hutterites you would know they are the first to help in the face of a disaster, many people have been thankful when these good neighbors stepped in to help out when a fire, barn collapse, flood or serious illness affects a non-Hutterite neighbor.

Actually I do not envy them at all even though
most colonies are successful. acreage per family
unit I farm way more land than most colonies.I
never said there didn't have to be a seller I said
sometimes helping someone out can be for your
own self interest in the long term.If I wanted to
live like that and have no personal wealth and
have one or two people think for me I would join
a colony. Grass farmer this model would probally
work well having someone think for you.

Yep, there are not many that can compete with a colony in terms of efficiency measured by family supported per acre. Still if you want to brag about how many acres you need to farm.....

And it's pretty hard for you to compete with a segment of agriculture where all of the next generation want to farm. A shining contrast to the rest of Canadian agriculture.
I don't come from a colony but I do live right next door to one and they have proven to be the best of neighbors, best of custom operators and honest and fair people to deal with in business. It annoys me when I hear so much nonsense and hatred spouted against the Hutterites based on prejudice and misinformation.

At this point, the last thing I would do is tell BTOFarmall where I live. It looks like he's ready to pay a personal visit to anyone who disagrees with him.

The Assiniboine River could not possibly handle ten more feet of water. The water is already within a foot or so of the top of the dykes at St. Eustache as it is.

As for Starlite's dike, it's made mostly of clay. They might have topped it off with limestone, but it certainly isn't "pure" limestone.
