He is from Lethbridge. He has no clue
what EXCESS moisture means. He is
talking so far about Optimal moisture,
not excessive. He is speaking to the dry
areas. We in wet areas already know all
this. and have known it since the
1970's. Good info for those who are
    having typical eastern prairie
conditions. Not so good for those who
are actually wet! The last time we had
less than 4 feet of moisture here, was
    back in, uh, hmm. NEVER!

SUPER DUPER fertilizer salesman! More is
      always better, fer the fertilizer
companies, that is. Really, really wet
soil, is gonna make canolie growin a
challenge this year, NOT a BUMPER CROP
like he's implying. Albert Gag is full of
BS, now cause only the shills and sucks
      are still employed there........

I think he makes a lot of sense. Why not put on more fertilizer when moisture is there to start? A lot of prime canola acres are quite saturated meaning later planting if at all 1.7 percent decline in yield per day after may 1 will have should have an effect on how much one wants to fertilize. I chose to go with sulfer fines this spring so I can adjust the rate there, if I don't use the anhydrous I can get a credit. Other than that I am doing things backwards this year and planting my wheat first canola second, only 2 crops. My wheat acres are dryer. Planting sequence was screwed up last spring also.

I hope everyone has their sulphur delivered/ordered and or paid for. There is zero avail here for walk up sales.

Same as hopper, never heard of a sulphur shortage before, very rarely pre-buy. Might have to make some phone calls tomorrow to make sure they have enough for me.
