Sk Party crap insurance premiums unaffordable for hardest hit areas

In such a rich province, surely the government of Saskatchewan could have recognized the hardest hit areas of weather disaster will be hit hardest by premium increases to crap insurance, so why imply an additional hardship to those areas? The premiums in themselves have and are going to create more than reasonable hardship for farm families in particular if you have a bit of crop and see no benefit from those extreme premiums.

Do you spend what ever money you have on premium or on fertilizer, fuel, etc? That is the question facing many farmers particularly young, however there aren't many young ones left, because there is no extra money left in those areas, many farmers do not have credit to buy their inputs unless they pay the high premium, many farmers in our area have no credit left to seed period.

Are they waiting for their political buddies in the investment corps to take over our entire area by buying out those that are undoubtedly going to go broke? What a demonstration of pure lack of understanding and consideration of our disaster area!!

Huge bonus checks will begin to flow to areas that have had their first disaster year through payments from Agri-instability. The Sask Party gov. and federal Cons appear to believe that money from the programs should go to those that need it least!

Is it an intentional act to get rid of more farmers? Where are the MLA s and MPs of those areas? Are they being gagged by the premier, or are they just that kind of people?

What is land in your area selling for?

Hopper, land values swing quite dramatically in this area, because of the programs not working, local people, young farmers especially don't have the ability to buy generally. Of course quarter to quarter it varies but this land can produce, just been hit by unbelievable weather problems last number of years. So if there is outside interest or the occasional situation if a quarter or two come up and someone is out on the oil rigs etc. and they want to buy a quarter (usually after they or their parents have lost land) the value goes up some. Because the programs don't work here we have had a couple of times outside purchases in the area. It was good for the seller but terrible for the community as a whole.

One investmtnt co. bought land had their renter haul in equipment in and out spring and fall. The problem with that as a local business man says they even brought their own ass wipe, meaning they bought virtually nothing from local businesses. The people that lost their farm because the programs area flop, were the kind that were on the hall board, organized benefit functions, real community people, they left because nothing else here and because in part I believe their own pride. When you put your heart and soul into something like they did, I might add very meticulous, hard working place was clean and efficient etc. and you loose it because programs are a flop, yet the guys buying you out are doing so with crap insurance, and agi-instability guarantees they are bringing with them from areas that had no disasters, it is very hard to swallow.

After 4-5 years the other outsider he just packed up, bragged at the start, but when the shit hit the fan for weather he said he got a shit load of payments using his averages from his farm miles away (while we got next to nothing or nothing), but it was dragging his average down, so he sold, and said he'd be back when his average was good again. Meaning he'll come back and use government money to do it.
So why not help the people that are here now supporting our community and living in it ritht now? Why have the highest premium and lowest coverage in the hardest areas of repeated disaster and at the same time hand out gov money for outsiders to do what is going on? complete bullshit!!!!

And then now our gov is wondering how to attract more doctors and keep the ones we have here. Well how about keeping our own young people here for starter. Do we think some doctor out of school is gonna want to settle down in an area with no young people? All our gov talks about is the money for doctors, they make good money already, it's the other things that attract those young doctors also.

Better quit, but it just pisses us off to the point you wouldn't believe.
There is a shit load up for sale right now expect, no one local can buy it, have to pay the huge premiums cannot afford to go on. So in a few weeks I'll let you know what it is at. But historically anywhere from 50,000 to 105,000 and sometimes the poorer land sold for more than the better.
