There is an old french weather observation, "le trois fait le mois". Basically the weather on the third day of the month will dictate the weather for the remainder of the month. I usually forget to pay attention on the 3rd of the month. Anyone else heard some interesting old time weather sayings?

        Tom,

Is the railway system through the mountain passes running at 100% capacity? How about all the branch lines?

Are the terminals able to handle more grain throughput at the coast? (Would they be able to if they didn't have union workers?)

I was just thinking that if there is room for more movement going West, why doesn't the board look into some extra locomotives to go along with our grain car fleet? We could have a "farmer owned" railway. No?

(You guys probably brought this up years ago, but my mind can't handle that retention level anymore)

          Silverback,

          WHO at the CWB CARES?

Alberta and Saskatchewan growers pay anyway.

This is a Very astute deal... for Manitoba grain growers... NO DOUBT.

Fransisco... what is the FAF charge on your wheat going east to Quebec east coast ports? How much rail and port charges to Thunder Bay?

I was always told "The last three days of a month fortell the weather for the next month." Also " Which ever way the wind is blowing on the equinox will fortell the weather for the summer." Something to watch and ponder.

Not a weather based line but it applies. A trend is a trend until it isn't.

Not as much fog this Feb so maybe not as much rain in May. The 90 day after fog rule. Was right on last year.

Drew did say not as wet in may but still coolish. It's getting to May that will be interesting.

Others say a 6 month rule for fog/hoar frost.
Another told me that the weather on the first 12 days of Dec forecast the corresponding month of the year.
This wet /cold trend is NOT my friend, as in marketing jargon.
