The Makhteshim Agan Group (MANA) has announced that 60 per cent of the company will be purchased by ChemChina, a large Chinese chemicals and agrochemical company controlled by the Chinese government. Sale price will be US$1.44 billion, the company said.

MANA, based in Israel, is the world's largest manufacturer of off-patent pesticides, including 17 herbicide, insecticide and fungicide brands sold in Canada.

As far as I am concerned they were priced to high for their generics. Their Version of puma was pennies cheaper then last year FNA came out with a WOat product that was way cheaper. But the owners of the company sure did do OK.

It is early in the generics game, but i think we are on track. This probaly makes Mana more competitive and is probaly a good thing.
