Official results and from there actual number/how the vote split
will be very interesting. District 3 closeness will be a good
indicator as to why taking the time to vote in the CWB director
elections is critical. If you have a strong opinion on the CWB
issue, a decision to not vote is a vote for a candidat with the
    opposite view from your own.

Several major changes to producer payment option programs for
feed grains (both wheat and barley). The single desk issue may
have taken front and center in the election but the other two
pillars of the CWB (government guarantees and price pooling) will
also have to be dealt with. The world is changing although slowly
    it would appear.

Good for Vos.....the borg supporters worked it very hard up here in this region ans spent a lot of money. They could not get enough of us to drink the "kool aid". The shame on the other hand is that he will not have any more like minded farmer elected directors to work with from the looks of the balance of the results, though some went to extra ballots to decide.

Well, shame on us in district 3 for letting Wells win. How we could let a socialist minded organic producer who wants to set up a monopoly pool for pulses win is beyond me. We will now be looking hard at 0% seeded to board crops now.

District 3 exactly as i said from the start. Vote would be split between Otto and Meinert and Wells would come up the middle in the 3rd ballot to win. The guy is a total clown and producers need be ashamed of themselves in this district.

For what it is worth, the election response was 41.3 percent. Been looking for the district but not published yet.

53% voter turn out on last election in 2008.

It's quite obvious that an increasing percentage of farmers, and a majority, are viewing CWB director elections as irrelevant, or an ineffective way of improving the business environment for their farms. There is no other way of explaining the low, and declining participation in the process.

The responsibility to make it relevant lies squarely with the Minister. But that takes courage, commitment, and the ability to be persuasive about the need for change, and the changes themselves. Does Ritz have what it takes?

Ritz? Future performance is likely going to be the same as his past performance...or non performance.
