Have done the credit apps for farmed land and was wondering if others have? The program is from 2002 to 2009 and is a fair chunk of change especially since it goes to the farmer and not the renter.

Hi Wd9,
did you check around with different aggregators,
last year when I looked into it the commisions
they took ranged from 15-45%. I talked to Terra
Verde, funny thing is they were out of Sask for an
Alberta program. Is Sask doing credits now?
What do you mean it goes to the farmer not the
renter. My understanding is that it is based on
how the land is farmed, eg no till which is the
person who is working the dirt.
Are you on the lower or higher side of the line?

I just compared a couple but since this is the end of the year and may be the end of the program too for that far back i just went for ECC who payed more the viagra's. Also thought even some money is better then none at all.
If you rent land the landowner can demand a portion of the payment but it is the farmer, ie the one who actually did the farming of the land, that qualifies for the money and does the application. You need the owners signature to get the money though and a portion can go to the owner.
Since this money is in the past and is a government program, i would have thought more would have done it and am surprised by the lack of posts. Guess there is more money in bitching about the CWB.
Also the question needs to be asked is should i conventional till on my crop insurance so as to 'start again' being a sink?

What type of dollars are they offering?
Is it a set amount or pooled average?
I tried looking online but few real details other than to contact.
What would be some of the reasons to go with a ECC rather than a Viterra, do they essentially all try to aggregate and are simply competing on admin costs?
Our farm had went with C-green aggregators in the past but it took a long time to finally get full payment, which was less than we had hoped.
Is the GST problem fixed?
thanks

Viterra will top it up by a percentage (can't
remember how much) if you leave it on account.
ie. Spend it on inputs ther and they'll pay you
more. Might be worth it if you buy there already.
