    Average is the most useless stat there is. A few verry high numbers can offset allot of pretty marginal numbers. That means that in reality there could be a third of the acrew that are exceptional with rest being fairly poor. The poor yielding areas won't have a pile of excess cash.

      BTO;

      Your attack on LWeber was mean... as was the bb technology; for those who take the time to be informed.

      Thanks Larry for ALL your very long hours and great info you provide us!

      Very much appreciated from this end... from a dusty old farmer.

      It may be hard to teach old dogs new tricks... but it is even harder to teach 'old' too proud farmers anything!

      Ask the CWB... it is what they count on!

        Any farmer that doesn't realize that sometimes we can make more money off a 5 minute phone call than we can make in a week on the tractor had better get a time machine so they can go back to the 60s.

          I think fertilizer buddy was a great service. Having knowledge of actual input prices has saved me money these last couple of years. Thanks Larry.

            A factoid for all those who think bubert aka the literary hillbilly is a genius.

              Got almost all of 2011 needs booked. Looks to me like more upside than downside potential!

                It's funny how prepaying inputs was a tool to manage tax exposure. Now that's been flipped on us by the industry as way of extorting our money out of us 10 months earlier.

                  I have to agree that something is wrong. Pay for the fertilizer in the fall of 2010, seed the crop 2011, get paid 50 to 75 % of your total payments fall of 2011 to July 2012 and get paid in full final payment in December 2012.
