    Australia Graincorp Buys AWB

Hmmm!! Shape of things to come. So much for going on their own. Fewer players in Australia grain game, is it good?

Grain Corp may have to divest itself of its port facilities and awb of its up country storage sites, which is good depends who buys them though.

In SA we have vitterra owning all the port facilities and most of the up country and there are access problems for other traders

Other companies apparently are still bidding for awb

Perhaps you will now reap the benefits of private enterprise monopolies instead of State or farmer owned ones. Serves you right.

Okay guys what evidence do you have that Australian farmers are worse off today without a state trading enterprise? Lets see some facts and numbers please to go along with the snide comments.

I didn't see any snide remarks...just a bit of conjecture.

              Facts and numbers please.

Why don't you try acreage for example?

Oh yah, that's right because post monopoly acres of Aussie wheat didn't go down, didn't stay the same, they actually went up.

Best price friday was $333 for our standard 10% wheat which equates to $311 on farm and feed barley was $272 on farm
