Canola School: Crusting Can Negatively Impact Your Stand

Good example of crusting but who would have had that problem this year? A rain usually allows the canola to come through also, the land rolling would scare me to make that soil blow in the wind and also cause damage to the canola.

CRUSTING! Bare dirt. Stop with the bare dirt and tillage already. I thought crusting was history, but then I guess there are still guys who pulverize the shit out of their soil.

the huge dirt clods from seeding into wet soil.

Crusting is getting worse in the peace, i crusted on my home and never does, the snow did us in.

Crusting has been a real problem in Southern Alberta this year on irrigation and heavier soil dryland. The high winds after the rain really made it terrible.

I stand corrected. I thought this problem was minimal anymore. It sure is for me.
