BHP to develope Jansen mine

BHP shares gapped down to a total of 4 percent down today. Still showing an uptrend. But with a P/E of 37.8 times they were over valued unless new earnings are not in the books yet which could very well be. They have 1.7 billion shares valued at 77 USD per share so developing this mine is a drop in the bucket to them.
They appear to do a lot of trade with China. Will the Canpotex deal be broken?

Lets put this into perspective, BHP developing the Jansen mine is similar to like Saskfarmer3 buying a new half ton. Sorry just had to through that in there.

Oh, I see the total cost to build the one mine is 10 Billion. That is more comparable to Saskfarmer3 trading up a complete new line of machinery. Should be a boost to the Sask. economy. They should trade on the tsx.

10 billion does not sound right.

Canadas largest company being gobbled up by a
company 9 times larger does sound right.

Just for a little kick to the crotch-seeing as how
everyone locally and internationally is sucking
mommys tit,would anyone ever have to work in
saskatchewan if potash was state controlled?

But we all know the poison pill the wall government
took in the first 24 hours as government eh?

I doubt they would be out of canpotex.

All potash companies are allowed in, then they produce to get tonnage. Its almost like a quota system. The harder a company produces over a given time frame determines their market share.

I am surprised they didn't just buy a turnkey. But this is better.

Interesting to see the out come in the long run, but the more
potash moved the less time to move grain.
