I do not know who to addres this to. I have been hearing some instances of high nitrates in the barley and wheat straw cattlemen are fall grazing on. Has anyone else come across this.

Post your question to the Beef Production forum. From my very old days as a D.A. in Hanna (literally in the last century) I remember several years of high nitrates in greenfeed, grown on summerfallow, and exposed to drought or early frost. It's an issue worth checking out. The cost for nitrate testing is quite low compared to the potential losses.
