    OHHHHH NOOO

The canola Canada ships to China is genetically modified for producing oil and contains a gene that keeps it from sprouting, Ritz said.

Did he really say that? Maybe he is a ritz cracker like Burbert says.

Yep...here is the quote from Forbes.

"Canada has assured China that blackleg disease has nothing to do with human health and that there's no chance of blackleg from Canadian canola spreading in Chinese fields, Ritz said.

The canola Canada ships to China is genetically modified for producing oil and contains a gene that keeps it from sprouting, Ritz said."

"I think there's some misinformation over there that we'll seek to resolve."

And yes, Ritz is a "cracker"...

        WOW I don't believe it...well unfortunately maybe I do.

I sent Mr. Ritz's office an e-mail stating my astonishment of the quote. We'll see if they respond.

Ritz doesn't even have the intelligence of a cracker. He is, in other words, the perfect big C politico, cause he is stupid, stupid, stupid, and oh by the way, he is apparently leading the charge to dismantle the CWB, if'n yous haven't forgotten. Open free markets will be able to pillage farmers at will, just like the beef industry is currently doin. Only the best are likely to survive, oh well to he-l with the little weaklings on the family farm, the no longer count for anything. Guess OATS are the only ting we should grew from no on. eatim if you've gottem!!!

You can find incompetence in any political party, unfotunately for us Harper picked the best for Ag Minister.

Yeah I said it from the start Ditz is a Dip, I actually have to take back some of the things I previously said about Strahl, because that guy looks like a freakin genious campared to this numbnut. About the canola thing someone stated his advisors screwed up and should have told him, EXCUSE ME if the agminister does not know something as simple as this there is definately something wrong. No wonder numbnuts keeps changing his mind about whether cais works he's probably listenning to two advisors one from town and one a farmer, he must have nightmares deciding which one's words he's gonna use, maybe flips a coin each morning but then again maybe he doesn't because it must be so confusing to call heads or tails with a loonie, you know there is a head on one side but no stripper on the other side.

Hope the lawyers get this the next time anyone is sued for sowing bin run seed.

                  Folks,

Maybe Minister Ritz was just trying to scare the Chinese into telling their farmers not to plant 'bin run' seed... cause it might not grow!

If the canola was sprayed with glyphosate Minister Ritz is bang on!

I believe he has tried very hard... to make the best of many many hard issues that anyone would have difficulty making the best comment every single time.

99.9% of the time... Minister Jerry is bang on... and I can't claim I could do any better and be ALL right 100% of the time.

CAIS is the provincial gov.'s decision... Ottawa would have changed it... but my understanding is provinces did not want it scrapped.

Why is it is much easier to trash someone... than to help them?

Here id the Reuters quote on Forbes:

"The seed Canada ships to China is genetically modified for its oil content and is processed, not replanted, Ritz said. China is concerned about dirt moving with the product, he said."
