    bugs

just found some bugs in a pile on the ground, and the center has heated a bit. Wheat was 11-12% so not sure why it happened so fast. It's been laying there about 6 weeks. Anybody know the use rate on phostoxin? How much does a bottle treat?

Thanks for the heads up, be checking today. I'll ask a neighbour about phostoxin - he had a bad bout of the bugs last year.

Take a electrical conduit, put a shop rag on the end, push it into the pile. As you pull the conduit out drop the phos tablets into the conduit. Phostoxin gas is heavier than air so it sinks through killing the bugs or so I have been told. I use phostoxin while I am filling bins more effective than malathion to date. I use about twenty tablets per thousand bushels if I am treating in a bin. Seems to work.

Tried to buy some Phostoxin awhile back and was told I had to have it custom applied by a licensed applicator. When did this happen?

Heard that too. Our local retailer can still get it. Used to be able to get it at legault agro in swift current.
