    What will this cost?

On the front cover of last weeks western producer reads the headline "Warm spell boosts wheat protein". The CWB think that the two weeks of hot weather we had at the end of Sept will have a marked impact on protein levels in wheat. I'm not sure where all this high protein wheat is suppose to come from. We usualy have protein levels between 14 and 17%,it's our game, how we can get away with slightly lower yields compared to our neighbors in higher production areas. This year with all the wheat off now we have nothing over 12.8% protein and the grain buyer was saying that some wheat was being downgraded on account of low protein levels, below 9%. I realize that it's been drier in the north east but it sounds like their yields are still in the 50's so the chances are they are not making up huge ground on the protein levels. So this begs the question. How will this effect CWB arrangements with customers and how much will it cost us since they obvisouly have no clue and have not started making alternative arrangements? Or am I wrong on protein levels???

Our protein is in the high 15 range, but we didn't get 50 bus per acre, due to dryness.

Here in N. E. Sask. yields were 60-65 bu. Protein was 12.5% to 13.5%

Everything in north west Sask is very low. Most in the 10-11% range.

Brother had a field come in at 17.3 px. My best was 15.5px. Yeilds were below 25.

Anyone used ESN dry nitrogen for delayed release and get a increase in wheat protein? How many lbs/ac? How applied?
