    Glad to see a cattle producer as Minister of Ag. The portfolio needs balance. But indeed lots of issue going to surface in crops including sky rocketing SCIC costs.

      Herd numbers are way down. Average age of producers is over 60. In Canada the herd #s are the same as in 1987 when Canada had a population of 26 million. In the US, the herd #s are the same as in 1951. Don't know if these #s include all the dairy cows that become beef.
