its the Canadian way..

collectively burn more energy on preserving the past that planning for the future....

the road less travelled is full of excitement and promise of change...the road more travelled is laden with complacency and deceit...

With the amount of oil, CBM and gas leases going in, not to mention the pipelines crossing farms how do you think it will affect land values? What about the abitilty to speculate? Even those living in the vicinity of urban centres could potentially affect any development opportunities that they have.

That is why I sometimes don't understand the "rush" to get those lease dollars coming in. Sure, they bring some much needed cash flow to producers who are/have been strapped for dollars. $2,000 per acre (or whatever it is they are getting) sounds great, but look at how long you tie up the land for and what restrictions you're under.

How will land appreciate when it is constrained by leases and pipeline right of ways?
