    South Korea

South Korea decided to break off talks with Canada about opening their market to UTM beef after Canada announced it had another case of BSE.
Maybe Canada should decide to halt all shipments of Kias an Hyundais? If they don't want to play by the rules why should we? Sooner or later we need to insist that all countries play by the rules and quit playing these silly games?
Of course the same could be said for the USA, but then they are a little different than South Korea? We need the USA but could probably afford to tell South Korea to go to hell!

Or we could start BSE testing for customers that are still a bit nervous!

I have to agree that testing for those customers that want it is a no brainer!
Madcow: Actually if you check out how much of our production goes to the USA you will see that it is a lot higher now than ever before? Quite a bit higher, percentage wise, than pre-BSE?
That is unlikely to change despite our best efforts?
That isn't to say we shouldn't make the effort but the fact is we have to export a whole lot of beef and the American market is about our best bet? It is unfortunate that poor government policy has forced us into this situation. The lack of support for our grain industry has forced the Canadian farmer to become a beef and pork exporter, it is the only way we can find a market for our grain? If the federal government had bit the bullet and stood up for the grain farmer in the grain wars we wouldn't be in the situation we find ourselves today?
But then they never had any money...to busy pissing it away to support a basic primary industry!

It's still hard to believe a westener is running the country! I fully expect Harper to show them how it's done and show them he deserves a majority.

Stephen Harper Ass Kicker from out West!
