Talked to a guy yesterday at the calf sale. He told me for the first time ever he brought all his calves to town. Figured with the strong prices he couldn't afford to keep back anything and besides he was overloaded with cows!
It seems this year there are a lot of smaller calves than usual and I wonder if this is the reason?
Sold one trailer load of steer calves and was very happy with the weights and price. Averaged 747 lbs(3% pencil shrink) and $933.75! April calves, right off momma, but without a doubt the cream of the crop.
