    Frost

Heavy frost this morning on the buildings and vehicles. Certainly looks like we have our killing frost.

farmers son:No frost east of Red Deer. Cleared off yesterday in the afternoon, after a very cool and windy day. At 10 PM the thermometer was at 2 degrees and the sky was clear and no wind. I thought well here it comes...but this morning it is overcast and close to 5 degrees.
Hopefully the crops in your area are mature enough that the frost won't be a major problem? The grain here is pretty well dead ripe and waiting for the ground to dry out enough to swath. A good portion of the canola is already in the swath and needs a few hot days to get it ready...probably by the time the ground dries out enough to get the combines in the field it will be ready.

Good luck guys. 30 C here yesterday, heading for the same today, and dust clouds blowing.

A fairly decent rain here again yesterday.
Farmers have been dessicating crops in a big way the last couple of weeks. My buddy owns a spraying outfit and has been very busy plowing around in the mud! You have to sort of wonder? $1.85 barley...and you spend another$12 bucks/acre to dessicate? This crop is going to have to come off with big yields just to get the inputs paid!

Doesn't every crop have to come off that way anymore?
