You know it's been a long winter when...

My iPad doesn't seem to want to do the
embedding thing, so a link will have to do. We
watched this snow bank grow for a while, and
knew it was only a matter of time before it would
hold a cow. Boy did they have a fun run to the
pasture and back before they got busted. Maybe
by next week it will melt enough that they can go.

Oops. I'll fix that tonight when I have more time.
Gotta go back to work right now.

Lets try this one. I wish I could say it was filmed in the dead of winter, but it was only a couple of days ago.

I don't have video to prove it but some of our
yearlings did the same thing a month ago with some
of our windbreak fence - 8 feet high windbreak fence!
Spent the last few days cutting paths to get our cattle
out of the corrals. Cleared off some pads to feed
them on in the pasture as we had the first calf this
morning. Doubt if we will have usable banked grass
until May 1st this year. No bare ground yet, ranging
from 1 foot to 6 feet deep snow cover.

We lost a lot of snow this week, but it's still too
wet and snowed in to let them out of the yard. You
can't see it in the video, but back by the sheds it's
nice and dry. However, the bulls go out at the end
of the month, and they will need some elbow
room. A dozen more calves, and we're done for
this year. Then it's lambing time. Lol
