    The Starlings Got Back

.The starlings made their appearance yesterday. Always happy to see them....means spring is right around the corner!
Last year they showed up March 11th. The year before, the 18th.
Tough birds.....about the only thing that can move the sparrows out of their nesting areas.
A friend in BC told me they are starting to winter in the Okanogan. They like to eat the frozen/rotten g****s.....they get drunk as Lords and lay all over the ground flopping around. He said they are becoming real drunks!

They are one bird that I help( with
lead)to keep them moving on.Far worse than
    house sparrows.

Food4u: As someone who has several bluebird/tree swallow houses, I've never had a starling try to muscle out the "good birds"? Not so with English sparrows! They will kill the bluebirds/swallows in the nesting boxes.
English sparrows are really bad little birds....at least in my opinion....which is biased because I like the bluebirds/swallows! In reality the English sparrow is very much the Darwin theory at work?
