Canfax Cattle Market Forum - November 18,19 2014 in Calgary.

Are these good days here to stay?

CALGARY- Members of the Canadian cattle industry will be meeting in Calgary on November18 and 19, 2014 at the Canfax Cattle Market Forum. The annual event is in its third year and will be held at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Alberta.

The forum features a number of expert industry speakers who will present new perspectives and focused, up-to-date information on the beef industry.
The Canfax Cattle Market Forum is the only forum of its kind specifically built for Canadian cattle market information, while providing global perspectives. The conference is a great source of current information on global markets and trends while providing updates on key factors affecting the evolving North American cattle market. Different perspectives and insights are provided that are essential to keeping businesses profitable.

“We’ve broken historical barriers in the industry this year,” said Brian Perillat, Manager and Senior Analyst at Canfax. “2014 will be a year to be looked back on for Canadian cattle markets: our forum is focusing on why this has happened, and whether we can maintain it going forward.”
Perillat will be speaking at the conference about market factors he expects in the coming one to five years. His presentation will provide insights into local markets within the context of broader market conditions.

The conference is opening the evening of Tuesday November 18th, 2014, with Richard Vesta who will provide an update on the re-opening of the beef packing plant in Balzac, Alberta, renamed Harmony Beef. The state-of-the-art facility will make a big difference in Western Canadian beef processing, handling 800 head per shift.

One of the speakers at the Canfax Forum is Jerry Wulf, President of Wulf Cattle, one of the largest integrated beef companies in North America. Wulf will be speaking about building a consistent supply chain in the changing industry, and the importance of forging strong business relationships.

A variety of other speakers will be sharing pertinent market information to cover every facet of the ever-changing Canadian beef-industry, including a feed grain market update, supply chain risk management, and major retail trends in protein both locally and globally.
