Missed that report, but have heard lots of 4 weights over the $3 mark (some up to $3.18).
The Scotch in me keeps saying that no one ever goes broke in the bad times. It takes good times to set you up for failure (LOL).

Take a look at Calgary Stockyards last market report.
      4 weight steers averaged $342
      5 weight steers averaged $336
      4 weight heifers averaged $325.
I think their market reports are fairly trustworthy. Interesting times.

Oh and Sean you need to stop drinking that stuff. "Scotch" is the drink, Scottish or Scots refers to the people and the heritage.

We saw one in Brandon today go for 3.90. Lots and lots over $3

Here are some Charolais prices from the presort. These were all good calves. Just wrote them down because it's what we raise. Other breeds weren't that far off. Hungry buyers.....

              Steers
              263 lb @ $3.90
              477 @ $3.21
              527@ $3.125
              579@ $3.025
              717@ $2.77

              Heifers
              376@ $3.29
              518@ $2.87
              563@ $2.50

Sold the last of last spring's auction mart riff raff we bought, and set a probable lifetime profit record on them. Not sure we are going to take another go at them this fall yet. It's pretty scary. So happy to still have the cowherd is all I have to say.

Come on kato, you've got to be "in to win" - reinvest some of your profits and get buying calves again. What could go wrong lol?
With commercial bred heifers in Nebraska bringing over $3000 there may be upside potential yet.
