    getting back into cattle

    Hello all

I usually just post over in the pity
party - I mean commodity marketing but
    thought I'd say hi...

We used to have a decent heard of cattle
in Manitoba, about 120 pairs along with
800 ac of grain and things went well...
then bse hit, and my parents split and we
were flooded out year after year unable
to make hay dealing with footrot
continually and the like... Mom wanted to
retire and I had to go to work in the
patch to save the farm so the cows left.
    I've missed them ever since

Fast forward, Mom quit we sold the land
base in the flood zone, I found my bbest
half and we cover 1500 ac in Sk near
    Humboldt.

My fiance grew up with her grand parents
running a cattle ranch down in the
Abbey/Cabri area... she works with horses
and just like me knows and loves
    livestock. ..

We always planned to get back into them
and run a mixed farm... I guess the
question is, is now the time to get in?

We actually kept all our having equipment
    and livestock equipment... so our
iinvestment would be cattle corals and
    establishing hay.

My worry is we are at the top right
now... then again a guy can buy decent
bread cows for 900 bucks and sell a calf
    for 1100...
