What is inspectors job?

I've never been in a plant like XL. Can
someone tell me the job of the CFIA? Why
did XL have to send CFIA a letter not
visa versa?

I do know that when a grain inspector
is loading rail cars they tell the
elevator when they have a problem and
shut down loading. They don't sit around
waiting for letters from the elevator
telling the quality of load.

Sounds to me like it was 46 gov't
inspectors sitting around waiting for
the mail.

I guess they were doing their job.

It's in essence another great Conservative
deregulation exercise. They let the big plants self
regulate and the inspectors inspect the paperwork.
Kinda like putting the fox in charge of keeping an
inventory in the henhouse.
The big lie about how the Cons have increased CFIA
staff was refuted today by a union official at the
plant. She said they had 46 inspectors back when
they were killing 2500 a day and they have 46 now
they are killing 4000 plus.
I can't believe anyone would think it was a good idea
to allow the big plants to self regulate while they so
rigorously go after every little aspect in the Provincial
plants. Of course it is only the lobbyists for the big
packing operators that think it is a good idea - good
way to get an unfair advantage over their smaller
competitors.

My neighbor tells me that when a tag fell off his calf in a trailer they almost wanted to send him to jail, but here where people's (OUR) safety was at issue they the inspectors had to wait for the mail and find out what xl wanted to tell the inspector?

This may be the end of XL, if things keep going as
smoothly as they have to date. Gag Minister RITZ
lying like a carpet about, more inspectors ( we all
know that there are less, gobermont cost cutting =
monitoring of plant, self regulation a Conservative
corner stone) It all depends on the US. If XL is
dirty, tries to cover up and keep their mouths shut,
they are toast. Well done and they deserve to be,
warning issued no action, then border closure. XL
deserves to be slaughtered, butt oh wait, theys
friend and contributors to the Conservative party....

Self-regulation? Is this how something so
important as food safety is monitored? Just look
at how much money we can save if we get rid of

The more info that comes out from CFIA
report really makes you wonder.

In their (CFIA) investigations they
found foul odor from drains, sanitation
fluid dripping from ceiling and clogged
wash hoses.

How in the heck can Ritz say they were
doing such a great job when then they
can't even smell foul odors or see water
isn't coming out of a wash hose or
see/feel fluids dripping from the roof?

Likely they should have done their little walks through the plant instead of playing computer solitaire.

When someone got jacked up about it they had to find something.

At the bottom of the report it says none of the issues MAY have had anything to do with E-Coli.

hit the little guy,who has trouble
