The real election outcome

The combined total of Western Canadian
Conservative Members of Parliament is 72.
The combined total of Members of Parliament for the Conservative caucus from Ontario alone is 73.
As you can see, Ontario alone, with only 44% of the popular vote gave the Conservative Party more members of Parliament than all of Western Canada did combined.

The only way for us to get more seats is to balance and redistribute the people. The greatest asset we have is the wide open spaces, smaller cities and less people. As unfair as it sounds the alternative of sharing our west with several million more people does not sound worth it.

The part that bothered me was that exactly two minutes after we had access to the election coverage, the news networks called the final result. Before even one western riding was announced.

They could have waited and at least given us an impression that our votes may have counted for something.

We could all vote for the Rhinocerous Party and it wouldn't change a thing.. except to make Parliament more interesting.
