    Off we go again

Didn't take Harper long to get back into pursuing his weird idea of democracy. He wants senate reform, doesn't believe it should be filled with appointed people, believes it should be elected ones. So three appointed senators stepped down to stand as PC candidates in the federal election and were all defeated. So Harper turns around and reappoints them to the senate.
Rather like the pronouncements Ritz was making during the election campaign "the future of the CWB will be decided by farmers" yet turns around immediately after the election to announce that the Government will remove the monopoly and farmers will have no vote on the issue.

Harper is an enigma within a puzzle as they say. Even his own people can't figure him out.

Maxime Bernier screws up so he is rewarded by being re-instated...why? Because he's from Quebec and Harper needs their support perhaps not now but in the future. Its all one big poker game.

Most of the big wheat farmers wanted the CWB to end so what's the use of a vote?...kill it...no one of importance is going to squawk anyway.

The Harper government controls the Senate now so what's the rush in reforming it?...its more useful as it is. Got to get those new prisons built and time to create some new criminals to fill them with. Get tough on crime...grow six marijuana plants and its the hoosegow for you. Pretty soon, three strikes and life in prison with steak and potatoes every day.

Don't worry about the cost of jet fighters...perhaps we can use 'em on the Danes as they steal our oil from under the Arctic. Gawd knows, we have no patrol ships or icebreakers to even get up there. Harper is in charge, don't worry, be happy and don't forget to pay your taxes...the more the better.

Forty cabinet ministers now and a number of associate ones...pretty soon 50 and then 60...takes manpower to run this country...oh, did I mention...PAY YOUR TAXES...we're broke.

My prediction? Four years from now there is going to be a blockbuster of an election.

But it won't be called early.

harper wanted the country polarized left and right and he did it with his strategy to destroy the liberal party. now if he's a total dick as prime minister he may be responsible for the first socialist federal govt of canada.
